Mr. George G. Poufos
Director of Inland Revenue Department, Ministry of Finance, Republic of Cyprus

George Gabriel Poufos was born in July 1958.  He has been the Director of the Cyprus Inland Revenue Department since October 2003.  He studied Economics at the Aristotle University where he graduated in 1980.  He holds an MBA (Master in Business Administration) from Newport University, Graduate School of Business Administration, an MPA (Master in Public Administration) from Harvard University, John F. Kennedy Graduate School of Government and an ITP (International Tax Program) from the Harvard Law School. 

Mr. Poufos is a Fellow of the Chartered Association of Certified Accountant in England and Wales (F.C.C.A.) and a Member of the Cyprus Institute of Certified Public Accountants. He is also a Member of the Institute of Personnel and Development in England and Wales, UK (M.I.P.D.) and a Member of the Cyprus Institute of Marketing (M.C.I.M.).  Mr. Poufos has been a member of the board of the Co Op Building Society of Civil Servants (1996-2011). His working experience includes Moore Rowland UK, Chartered Accountants (1984-1986) and Moore Stephens (Cyprus) / P. Stylianou & Co, Certified Public Accountants (1986-1989). Since September 1989, Mr. Poufos has been offering his services to the Inland Revenue Department.

Mr. Andreas Andreou
Vice-Chairman of the Cyprus Securities and Exchange Commission

Mr. Andreou is the Vice-Chairman of the Cyprus Securities and Exchange, the public independent supervisory authority responsible for the overall supervision of the securities market in Cyprus. The mission of the Cyprus Securities and Exchange Commission is the conduct of effective supervision to ensure the protection of investors and the healthy development of the securities market. Mr. Andreou has extensive work experience in both the legal and financial sectors. He was Head of the legal department and subsequently the Internal Legal Advisor and Company Secretary of a large investment firm, and as of 2010, the General Counsel of another large investment firm and of other companies of the same group. Mr. Andreou holds an LLB degree with Honours and an LLM in European and International Trade Law from Leicester University, England. In 1995, he became a Barrister, a member of Lincoln’s Inn, and a member of the Cyprus Bar. He is also a founding member of the Cyprus Association of Directors.

The Cyprus Securities and Exchange Commission (CySEC) is an independent public supervisory Authority assigned the responsibility for the overall supervision of the securities market and of the transactions in transferable securities carried out in the Republic of Cyprus. It is one of the five Authorities that supervise the financial sector of Cyprus. Its aim is to ensure high standards of investor protection, to safeguard the integrity, fairness and transparency of the operation of the securities market, as well as to promote the steady development of the securities sector. Mr. Stelios Platis, PhD (Cantab), MPhil (Cantab), BA (Hons)

Dr. Stelios Platis is an economist, with a PhD in Finance and Macroeconomics from the Faculty of Economics and Politics of the University of Cambridge. He worked as a consultant to financial institutions at KPMG in the United Kingdom, and then as the Head of Strategic Planning at the Cyprus Popular Bank Group.  In 2003 he founded and still directs the internationally-awarded company MAP S.Platis, providing risk management, internal audit and compliance support services to the EU financial services sector. He is also an Assistant Professor of Finance at the Cyprus International Institute of Management (CIIM).  Since 2009 he has been the Chairman of the Association of Cyprus International Investment Firms (ACIIF).

Dr. Platis is certified to provide a number of investment services, and acts as Internal Auditor / Compliance Officer / Risk Manager for a significant number of Investment Firms providing investment services in the European Union and globally. He also acts as a consultant on financial, risk management and economic matters to a number of organisations, committees and Boards of Directors.  He has served as Director of RiskLab (Cyprus), in association with the University of Cyprus, and an associate of the Department of Applied Economics of the University of Cambridge.

Mr. Omelchenko Andrii, Doctor of Law, Professor, Head of Chair of Civil and Labor Law of Kyiv National Economic University named after Vadym Hetman.

Mr. Omelchenko Andrii is a Partner of the Law Firm ‘Actio’.  He has experience in legal practice and governance and he was working in the Agency for International Cooperation and Investments under the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine.  As the Deputy Chairman of the State Committee for Communication and Informatization of Ukraine, he was a member of a government group for Ukraine’s integration to the World Trade Organization.  Mr. Omelchenko takes part in the legislative work, conducts scientific and court legal expertise.  He is a Member of the Scientific Advisory Board of Supreme Economic Court of Ukraine.  Spheres of practical and scientific interest are theory of management and administrative law, civil, economic, corporate, investment law, foreign economic activity, international economic law.  Author of about 100 published scientific, analytical and practical works (monograph, textbooks, and articles).

Ms. Yulia Buinitska
With an extensive experience in finances and customer service, Ms. Yulia Buinitska is a business development professional, and she has been working in the field of international sales at various companies for the past 4 years.  She is currently a Sales Manager in the Corporate Services Division at Quinto Corporate (Riga, Latvia) and is involved in managing of complex investment projects.   Ms. Yulia Buinitska graduated from Middlesex University and holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Business Studies.

Mr. Christodoulos E. Angastiniotis, Chairman, Cyprus Investment Promotion Agency (CIPA)

Christodoulos E. Angastiniotis is the Chairman of the Board of CIPA and the Chief Executive Officer of VitaTrace Nutrition Ltd Group.  He is also the Vice President of The Cyprus Chamber of Commerce and Industry (2011-2014), President of Lefkosia Tourism Development & Promotion Company (2008- 2014), President of The Veterinary Pharmaceutical Importers Association (2008-2013).  Formerly he served as the President of The Nicosia Chamber of Commerce and Industry (2005-2011) and President of the Cyprus – Egypt Business Association.  In addition to being the Chairman of the Board of CIPA he is actively involved in many international business and cultural Associations.  He has also served as member of the Board of Directors of the Human Resource Development Authority, the Cyprus Prisons, and the Institute of Technology.  He participated in many economic financial and business promotion seminars abroad where he presented a number of papers on the role of Cyprus as a Regional Financial and Commercial Centre.  Christodoulos E. Angastiniotis studied in the UK and holds a post graduate degree in MSc in Management Sciences from the University of Cranfield.

Ms. Joanna Andreou
Holding a LLM in Business Administration of the University of Cyprus, and a B.A in Law of Democritus University of Thrace, Greece. Having approximately 4 years of experience with corporate Law and being a leader with extensive experience navigating complex legal issues that have a corporate-wide scope. She is  a  Member of the Cyprus Bar Association from 2010 and Managing Director of Atlas Corporate & Trust Limited from the date of establishment.

Ms. Xenia Karousiou
Holding a LLM in European and International Trade Law of the University of Sussex, UK and a BA (Hons) Law with Accountancy of  the University of Brighton. Having approximately 4 years of experience with corporate Law and being a leader with extensive experience navigating complex legal issues that have a corporate-wide scope. Ms. Karousiou is one of the Partners of the Law Firm which was established in Cyprus in February 2011,  X.  KAROUSIOU AND ASSOCIATES LLC. She is a  Member of the Cyprus Bar Association from 2010.

Mr. Andreas Nicolaou

Mr Andreas Nicolaou is a holder of a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science and a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from European University. He is also a candidate as a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) and Project Management Professional (PMP). He is holding the position of the Managing Director at ITN Networks Ltd and ITN Design. He has a 5 year experience in the implementation and maintenance of Virtual Offices, Project Management, Web Design and Corporate Identity. Mr Andreas also assisted in the implementation of the Quality Management Standard Certification (ISO 9001) and Occupational Health and Safety Management Standard Certification (OHSAS - ISO18001) for Cyworld Group of Companies.
